Síolta is the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education in Ireland.

The contents of Síolta have been designed to assist all those concerned with the provision of quality early education in Ireland to participate in a developmental journey towards the improvement and enrichment of young children's early, and arguably most critical, life experiences.  For further information about the Síolta framework, click on www.siolta.ie.

The NCCA (National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) have updated the Aistear Toolkit to include an Environment Audit. The Audit has been designed to assist Childcare Services to think about and improve the indoor and outdoor learning environment in the context of Aistear.

The Audit can be used as a first set to introducing Aistear in your childcare service. As a curriculum framework, Aistear can assist servcies to plan for children’s learning under the themes of Well-being, Identity and Belonging, Communicating, Exploring and Thinking. Aistear is not intended to replace the current curriculum.

The Toolkit includes information on the below.

6.Working with parents
7.The learning environment
