Galway Childcare Committee works with Road Safety Authority to highlight child road safety

As a follow-up to the recently held Beep Beep training organised in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority (RSA), Galway City & County Childcare Committee are encouraging parents to avail of the Road Safety Authority’s Check it fits Roadshow which will be in the Galway Shopping Centre, Headford Road, on Friday, 11th September between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Get your child car seat checked FREE by coming along in your car, with your car seat and child and experts will make sure your child is safe.  According to the RSA: “3 out of 4 child car seats are not fitted correctly, which can cause death or serious injury”.  Advance Pitstop will also be on site offering a FREE 5-point safety check on your car.

Mary Giblin, Coordinator of Galway City & County Childcare Committee explains:  ”Galway City & County Childcare Committee is working in conjunction with the RSA to organise these events to raise awareness about the importance of child road safety.  Every parent should avail of the opportunity to have their car seats expertly fitted as well as taking advantage of the opportunity to have a free 5-point safety check ”.
