Beep Beep! Galway Childcare Providers to drive road safety initiative for children
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) in conjunction with the Galway City & County Childcare Committee are organising a “Beep Beep” Child Safety training event for childcare service providers in the Menlo Park Hotel on Tuesday, 11th August at 7.00 p.m.
Each childcare service in attendance will receive a road safety pack which will include a Child Safety DVD, as well as posters, booklets and stickers, a Safe Cross Code CD and Salmon and Friends stories
Childcare providers in Galway City and County are encouraged to have a “Beep Beep Day” in their services where they will:
• Read the Salmon and Friends stories to children
• Distribute the Road Safety Leaflets to children and parents
• Sing the Safe Cross Code with the children
• Show the children the Road Safety posters
The aim of the training is to raise awareness around child safety on our roads. Mary Giblin, Coordinator of the Galway City & County Childcare Committee agrees that: “This training event is an excellent opportunity to be fully updated with regard to child road safety and all childcare providers in Galway are encouraged to attend the event.”
The “Beep Beep” training evening is open to all childcare providers in Galway City and County. Call 091-752039 or email email@example.com to find out more. The role of Galway City & County Childcare Committee is to coordinate, support and assist the development of quality childcare services in Galway.
