CHILDMINDING WEEK 2011 - 'Learning is Fun!'
2011 National Childminding Week takes place from April 9th - 16th and promises to be an event-filled week for Galway childminders. The theme this year is 'Learning is Fun' and Childminders are asked to participate in the events as much as possible. The pinnacle of the week is our annual (free!) Childminders' Seminar and Network Lunch on Saturday 16th April. Book early to avoid disappointment! Click here for further details.
Schedule for 2011 national Childminding Week is as follows:
Children can enter the Childminding Ireland National Art and Photography Competition. Childminders whose children entered the competition are asked to bring along a copy of their entries for display at Saturday’s Seminar.
Saturday & Sunday 9th & 10th April

Monday, 11th April:

Wednesday, 13th April:
Carraroe Library, 11am – 1pm: Storytelling, tea & scones for parents, childminders and the children – all are welcome.
Thursday, 14th April:
Westside Library, 11.30am – 1pm. Fire and Ice - our ‘Mad Scientist’ roams amongst the children with bubbles and ‘smoke’ ensuring lots of fun and a little learning too! All welcome.
Friday, 15th April:
National Childminder’s Day – encourage the children to get involved in celebrating your vital role in their lives – start singing your own praises! Get the children to bake a cake; tell a story; make a card for their childminder; or enter the photo/art competition through Childminding Ireland!
Saturday, 16th April:
Childminders’ annual Seminar and Network Lunch. Clayton Hotel, Ballybrit, Galway
This free event will house workshops on Celebrating Difference & Diversity; Creativity in the Home and on the Health, Welfare and Development of the Child in your Care. Click here for further details. Book early to avoid disappointment!
