First ever Emergency Plan for Childcare Providers launched

“A practical toolkit you can open up and use immediately”, declared Mary McLoughlin, Principal Officer in the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, while launching the first ever Critical Incident Plan: A Toolkit for Childcare Providers in Galway. The innovative plan led by Galway City and County Childcare Committee addresses emergency planning and response for a range of childcare emergencies. The toolkit includes a simple, step-by-step booklet and poster to help providers plan and prepare for unexpected events. Ms. McLoughlin also highlighted the increased professionalism of the childcare sector reflected in the development of the Critical Incident Plan Toolkit. “This is a valuable addition to resources already available to childcare service providers”, she said.
