About Us
The Galway City and County Childcare Committee was established in 2000 to assist in the development of a wide range of integrated, high quality, accessible and affordable services for children in Galway city and county.
Membership
The Committee is made up of 20 members representing statutory and voluntary groups with an interest in childcare, partnership boards, childcare providers and parents.

Staff
The Galway City & County Childcare Committee employs 9 staff members, including a Coordinator, Administrator, Clerical Worker, Childminder Advisory Officer and Information Officer, as well as 4 Development Officers, one for each of the following areas:
The key objectives of GCCCC are:
- to coordinate and assist the development of quality childcare services
- to implement national childcare programmes at local level
- to coordinate and assist the provision of accredited training and in-service training for childcare providers/staff
- to provide information and resources for childcare providers, parents and the general public
- To develop a strategic plan 2011-2013
- to participate in the development and delivery of interagency family support initiatives that promote social inclusion
Galway City & County Childcare Committee was the first such committee to be established.
